Dr Olivier LEFEBVRE is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. His research work is in electrochemical technologies and advanced oxidation processes for industrial wastewater treatment and reuse. He is also an adjunct Professor at the Research Institute of Mines and Environment of the University of Quebec in Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT). Olivier is an IWA Fellow and administrator of the specialist group on water reuse, within the International Water Association (IWA).
Slaven Garaj’s research is focused on curious nanoscale phenomena at the interfaces between soft and hard matter, with particular interest in nanofluidics, single-biomolecule analysis using nanopores, and nano-electronics. His research has been features in top journals such as Nature, Science, and PNAS, and received a keen attention in media including BBC. While pursuing in-depth scientific understanding, his research group drives the development of technologies in the fields of medical diagnostics, water filtration and energy harvesting; and his patents are licensed by major companies.
